: I have bathtub with shower. Due to leaking faucetts I replaced the rubber washer and the valve seat on the hot and the cold side. The faucettet handle were difficult to get off due to accumulation of soap or milldew or whatever but by working at it they did come off ok. I tried to remove the handle for the shower control in the same manner but was unable to do so. I was assuming that it was attached in the same manner as the faucette handles but became unsure of myself when it did not come off and thought I should check with knowledgeable people before applying additional force. The fixture is a Price-Pfiser and was installed in 1977. : Should the shower control handle come off in the same manner? Is there someway I can force it to come off without breaking anything? : Thank you for considering my request, : Leon Max Powell Terry, Thanks, I was able to get it off and extract the stem. Thanks again, Leon Max Powell

: I have a price-pfsier fixtures in bathtub. May I replace just the faucette with the faucette from a Delta bathtub faucette set. In other words could I just screw off the price-pfsier faucette and screw on the Delta faucette? : Thank you for considering this request, : Leon max PowellLeon, Replacing the entire tub faucet with another brand is an option that will work. Replacing Price Phister valve stems with Delta stems is not. Price Pfister and Delta parts will not interchange.Regards, Terry Love

: I am undecided about whether to replace the toilet while remodeling my bathroom. The house was built in February 1977 and has the normal looking toilet for that time. The toilet has some stains and it would be nice to have a new one to be new like the rest of the bathroom. I have two questions concerning the new water efficient toilets, here they are: : 1. Will the water efficient toilets fit the same flange and outlet and fit into the same space by the wall or will I need to move the flange outlet. From the wall to the center of the outlet hole is 11, the outlet inside diameter is 3. : 2. Will I be able to use the same inlet pipe rough-in or will it need to be moved.. : Thank you for considering this question. : Leon Max PowellYou should be able to use the exsisting rough in for your new toilet. However, the new 1.6 gpf models may not give you the performance the 3.5gpf that you now have does. Thanks to the Feds. this is what were stuck with. I find a courtesy flush while you are still sitting works well though.

Standard drain sizes for toilets are 3 and 4Here is a good link on toiletsRegards, Terry Love

: Hi, : Home has an abundance of water coming into the crawl space. There is an outlet hole with an obstructed outlet pipe due to roots penetrating the pipe. I would like to replace the pipe with a 4 diameter pipe that will not leak. The pipe will need to be underground for about 20 feet and be attached without leakage to the foundation wall . Would PCV or CPVC be good for this application? What would be best to last many years without trouble? : Thank you for reading this request. : Leon Max PowellLeon, I would go with the PVC pipe. regards, Terry Love
