Hello there, I’m renting a room in an old apartment in Spain and my toilet is giving me grief. Every time you flush, even if there’s nothing in it, the toilet clogs and runs for about 5 minutes. I’ve tried plunging it and nothing works, and I don’t even speak the language here, nor do I have the money to call a plumber. Here’s a photo of the tank, is there anything out of place in the tank itself? Any suggestions for how I can fix this?

Can you be more specific about the problem? Is the water running for 5 minutes and a blockage?
Everything looks fine on the photo it could just be that the syphon is faulty.

Do you mean water is constantly running down the pan?
