I have a problem, easy for a experienced plumber i am sure.

I replaced a tile floor in a first floor bathroom with linoleum and now the cast iron flange is too tall for the new toilet to fit over. I need to remove it and replace with a plastic twist-in for four inch pipe.

The problem is how to remove it. In the past I have drilled out the lead and oakum on a clean out which was rusted out and would not seal. I remember this was a time consuming job.

Is their a easier way? I have seen oval rings to raise the toilet but this is not a satisfactory solution.
