I live in Chula Vista, California.Do you know what the code is for strapping down an installed waterheaternd what kind of strap is used? Can I use a nylon strap. Thank You

No, you should use the approved metal wrap around strap made for just that purpose.

l.j. go to a home improvement store ie;home base,home depot ect. and ask for w/h earthquake strap kit it has every thing you need incl.the code,instructions, two straps ,nuts/bolts and a sticker stating that the straps are certified cost i think 15.00 easy huh.
