No water pressure in tub/shower

I have a shower in my bathtub. The kind of faucet that you pull up the plunger to divert the water to the shower head. The water is on full blast but just trickles out the shower when I pull up the plunger. I removed the shower head and cleaned it but the problem still exists. I must say that the water doesn’t come out of the faucet real hard to begin with. I have no trouble with the bathroom sink. This is in a bathroom on the second floor of a private home. Any suggestions?

Is there any name or markings on the faucet at all??? That will help us try to solve your problem.

Try back flushing the shower spout with the tub spout off. Use the water from the basin woth ahose adapter attached to the airator.

This will tell you if the riser (shower pipe) is clear
