I am trying to replace a standard shower head with a hand held. However I can’t get the shower head to budge! I have no idea how old it is. It looks like it is attached to galvinized pipe. I have tried to use a number of wrenches and leverage but nothing seems to work. I tried WD 40 a number of times and let it sit but to no avail. Short of blowing it up what can I do?
Call a Licensed Plumber before you break a pipe inside the wall.
There are lots of methods shower heads are installed. I have see Stanley G. Flagg fittings (T. P. Copper) where one side was brazed into a copper female ell OR left handed threads used Or a copper female ell.
A professional would have an extractor (easy out) that may help.
