I have a washing machine that drains in to the back yard. the drain pipe has washed away the earth so I have a hole in the ground. some have mentioned using a 55 gallon drum and draining into this. what should I do to get this to work? What are the specs on such a thing? Or does someone sell something like this?

In your area of the country they are doing alot with gray water discharge such you have, contact the county or city you live in and find out what the codes are so it will work correctly for you.
