What we do in our city is cast iron soil pipe in ground and above with lead and oakum 15″ to 8″. From 8″ on we use nohub bands. Youcan use screw pipe, or copper but cast iron is best, of course you have to know how to run it. Let me know. You need any advice I got 44 yrs. on cast iron pipe.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion. However one aspect we are looking at for high-rise DWV application is the sway in the building due to wind effect. Would CI piping stand such a stress?

We dont alow PVC over 5 stories here , because of fire, pvc when burned puts out hazorus fumes. Cast iron pipe has been used in high rise buildings all over world, most of buildings in New York are cast iron plbg, risers have to be ofseted every 10 Fls. Our high rise buildings here 35 Stories high is all cast irn waste& Vent and copper water pipe. Look up cast iron pipe on google in high rise buildings.
