I just purchased a cottage which has a leachfield for grey water only. What must I do to winterize the pump which is only a couple of feet below the surface and 2-3 feet above the frost line?

edchar, where in the world is your cottage located? Do you plan to use the cottage and generate graywater during the winter?

You must get water out of pit and also make sure pump is drained, and also disconect pipe if you can to get water out, turn off el. when done.
