we have lived in this house 14 years, and have been putting up with this sewer gas smell almost the whole time – seems to be worse after it rains, and seems to come from the dishwasher, and under the kitchen sink-we’ve tried everything – checked the vents, had the septic tank pumped out, etc…it seemed to stop for about six months, and is now back with a vengenence! Help!!!

Is your dishwasher connected properly either into GD are a trap of its own. Have you went into wall and seen if any pipes are broke., is the vent up through the roof. I had same thing about 6 yrs. ago and found out it was comming out of sink stack, so I dug up drain line to septic tank and put in house trap and have not had any more gas.
