How do I need to vent a utility pump in a basement pumping into the main drain. Do I need to go directly thru the roof? Can I connect to the existing vent? Can I vent it horizontal thru the side wall in basement. Can I just vent it above the machine in the basement?

No on all your ideas. the vent has to run through the roof by itself are you will get sewer gas in house if you connect into existing vent.

I agree. Must run separate to the roof.

wut kind of pupm do you mean, and if your going to the main drain it should be vented in thru the roof already you may only need to put a trap in it.
