I live in an apt where several residents all share the same waste system. My sink and dishwasher continue to fill up with grey/black water that smell terrible. I am going to guess this is some short of sewage. While I am waiting on the management to fix this, what are the health risks (if any) of me using my dishwasher, etc?

Its not too good. Dont pay your rent, it should only take a day are less to fix this. Call the Plumbing inspector.
