Leaking tub drain on slab

My tub drain has a hole in it some where before the main sewer line. Is it possible to change this without removing the tub?? I have little or no access without removing the tub/shower surround. I know I can get the flange in the tub out but getting the pipe from the bottom of the tub to the sewer line has me

How do you know it has a hole in the pipe if you cant see it. You will have to fig. out which way pipe goes and start breaking up fl. You should not have to remove tub unless pipe goes under it. Usually the pipe is where water is and goes other way.
