I moved into a new condo in December. Since February, we have been experiencing a loud sucking noise coming from our kitchen sink nearly every evening. The plumbers who installed the plumbing for the conod are stumped. The noise occurs almost avery night at around the same time. They suspect that water is having trouble getting through suds buildup in the line, creating a vaccuum when it finally bursts through. We have been waiting for more than 6 months to get this fixed. So far, nothing. Has anyone ever heard of this before? The noise is a prolonged sucking noise that is lloud enough to hear ooutside! It sounds like the creature from the black lagoon is coming up out of the drain. Help!! [email protected]

Sounds like the upstairs kitchen sink is being drained into your sinks vent. Also known as wet venting.
