We are living in a house in Sydney in a new subdivision. We recently had some landscaping work done and the landscape gardener buried the sewer inspection point! (I need to do some digging to find it again…) Are there any consequences of burying the inspection point? Does the inspection point act also as a vent or breather?

Kjsh. The inspection shaft is purely that, an inspection shaft. If the shaft was in a driveway it is supposed to be installed under a loose fitting lid so it can be accessed. Your landscaper is licensed under the Builders licencing board, I would ask him to find the Inspection shaft & if he refused put in a complaint.
