Hi, we have purchased a property that has a 2 year old holding tank.When the tank gets to full it does back up into the basement of this place. I am assuming the basement drain runs into the holding tank as that is what smells. Is there anything you can do to prevent that from happening?Is there like a foot valve that goes one way..out?

Your asking for a back water Valve Something in the order of a check valve.
Why not just install a HIGH WATER ALARM to signal you when to get the bloody thing PUMPED OUT BEFORE it gets that deep
