I am looking at buying a new home (built 2000) that has an engineered drainfield. As the soil would not perk, this field was installed as an option. The design is new to me. Are there any major things to worry about in a system like this? Or is it as reliable as a “normal” drainage system? Any info would be great!

awspeich, Please describe in detail the components, the design details, and the specific type of your “Engineered Drainfield.” Is it a soil absorption system, an evapo-transpiration system, a sand filter, or any one of the many alternative technologies available for the dispersal of septic tank effluent?
