Could anyone tell me if the evaporators (half moon type) condensate lines for walk-in fridges needs be trapped and why/why not. As well, is PVC DWV permitted in a commercial kitchen when used above floor?
        Thanks

Depending on local codes what the trapping regulations are.

For example some codes do require the condensate from a walk in box to have a drain line with a max developed lenth of 24″ with not trap BUT this line must have an “Air Break” to a another indirect waste pipe that has to be trapped BUT depending on developed lenth if this other line needs to be vented.

Most of the better codes will not allow plastic drain/vent/water lines in a commerical establishment

Check yourlocal code to be safe
