I have used a brand-name ‘pipe cleaner’ to clear a slowly running pipe. After putting the pipe cleaner in the pipe, it blocked completely. So I followed the instructions on the container and mixed a liquid solution with hot water. To no avail. It seems the ‘pipe cleaner’ has solidified and set in the pipe. Really hard !!! Is there something available to dissolve the caustic? Maybe a dose of acid?

How big of an “explosion” do you want? Even a small amount of acid in contact with the drain cleaner will create a violent reaction. Your only safe solution is to grind through it with a snake or, if it is in the trap and sink piping remove them and install new ones.
