Is there a trick to getting a disposer to connect to a pvc trap with a slip fitter fitting. It keeps slipping off every so often and the drain dumps underneath the cabinet causing a real mess. Is there something I can put on the down drain to help prevent this?

Normally the only time they can slip apart is if the pipe is too short. You may have to install a longer pipe, or cut that one off and add a slip extension to it to make it longer.
