MY BATHTUB DRAIN IS THE TYPE THAT HAS AN UP AND DOWN LEVER AT THE FRONT OF THE TUB THAT OPENS AND CLOSES IT. IT WILL NOT STAY OPEN,TO ALLOW THE WATER TO DRAIN. WHEN YOU PUSH THE LEVER DOWN IT POPS BACK UP, CLOSING THE DRAIN. HOW DO YOU REPAIER THESE DRAINS.

Remove the plate by removing the 2 screws then pull it up exposing the linkage you will likely find the plate is worn on the back not letting it lock in the open position.
