        I have a sump pump noise problem. The pump turns on and pumps for 20 seconds or so, but when it
        shuts off I hear this loud “thump” noise. I think it may be the water coming back down and hitting the check valve. I’ve raised the valve a foot higher, and it’s still the same. Any suggestions?

          1-Try installing a LIFT Check rather than a swing check

          2- Make sure you have the 1/8 inch hole drilled to break the vacuum as per manufacturers instructions

          3-Install the check valve on the horizontal rather than the vertical
