We have a group of hotel bathroms that are to become ADA compliant. PIping is cast iron, with oncrete floors. The sanitary ping is below the floor. The water closet center-line is now 16-1/2″ from the side wall and 18″ is required for ADA. Can offset closet flanges be used here? It is awkward to provide another rough-in.

The offset collars you would likely have to use are awkward, if not impossible, to use to offset sideways, due to one bolt having to be located inside the offset’s opening. There was a cast iron offset that had a slot cast into the back inside of the offset for this purpose, but when it was used, the wax ring seal is outside of the bolt and therefore cannot give a proper seal.
