What about tampons and baby wipes? Can these go into the septic system?

Alohilani, both of the items mentioned are very slow to decompose in the septic tank, and they may even pass through a conventionally baffled septic tank and end up in the leach field pipe system, clogging the holes in the pipe. It is better to dispose of these items, and other items such as condoms, tampon applicators, cigarette filters, disposable diapers, and the many other indigestible waste products of our modern society, in the sanitary landfill.
