Water from disposal into dishwasher

Hi:

I insalled a new disposal. Now, when we run the disposal, water sometimes backs up into the dishwasher thru the hose from the dishwasher to the disposal.

Note that we do not have an air-gap, but we didn’t before either, since the pumber removed it years ago.

Any ideas?

Check the height of the dishwasher drain hose. It should be looped above sink top before it connects to the drain. If this is not possible run it hard under sink top.
