Hi. My Junkers water heater won’t light. The gas is on and the pilot light batteries are new. When I turn the water on there’s no clicking sound of the pilot light trying to ignite (like there usually is). Batteries are fitted correctly. Gas bottle has plenty gas left. Any ideas please?

I see you have replaced the batteries but are the new ones any good -m I mean have you tested them for the correct voltage – if they are very low in power you will experience the problem you are having. If they prove to be fine with at least 1.5v DC of power available then the likely causes can be : (a) dirty connections within the battery compartment where the batteries make contact, (b) a faulty spark generator/controller pack which is an unserviceable item and if faulty needs to be replaced. This component is the “brain” for the whole water heater.
Hope this information is of assistance to you.
