with the rising gas prices i would like to save as much natural gas as possible is it worth it to change over a standing gas pilot to an electric igntion (itermitent) gas vavle. I have been told a pilot a vavle may only use as much as $2.00/month worth of gas… looking for any input..

If you desire to save gas for your nation, that is one reason. The changeover takes many years to amortise, and that is about the time to need repairs to the new electronic ignition. There is minimal saving. The standing pilot is very dependable and easy to repair.
