What should I expect to pay to replace the gas valve on a 1948 Gaffer&Statler oven and on a Rheem floor furnance (old)? I was given an estimate of $500 for the oven and $600 for the floor furnance.

I would get a new oven before I would spend the necessary money on a new control. The floor furnace’s cost will depend on how difficult the access to the control is.
