When the pump isn’t running for a long period of time, it loses its prime. Then we have to re prime it. What would be causing this. We have a well out at the lake. During the night, my husband had to shut off the pump because it lost its prime. Then he has to keep repriming the pump. I would appreciate any suggestions..

Do you have a check valve on the pipe, if not then that might be your problem.
