I have a 9 year old RuudGlas Pacemaker 40 gallon gas water heater that has developed a constant drip from the drain fitting. The fitting is plastic with hose threading on the end. I have attempted to tighten it (by hand), but there is no effect on the drip rate. I am afraid to really crank it closed and then break the plastic. Being that this is a 9 year old heater, is it worth trying to fix the valve/fitting or just replace the whole unit?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
