I live in an apartment building on the ground floor. Every few minutes I hear a loud groaning noise from pipes in the ceiling. I thought it was a condensation return pump to the boiler on the other side of the wall but I cant figure it out. This goes on day and night every few minutes. Please help.

Sounds like one of the toilets in the buiding has a flapper leaking and ballcock refills making a loudnoise caused from a loose are bad washer, have mat. man check out toilets.
