No matter how tight i turn the shower off it still leaks from the shower head. i have narrowed it down to the hot water handle. how do i stop this?

Can’t tell from your post if you have two single taps that are each turned on when you shower or if you have a shower mixer that blends both hot and cold water. If you have twin taps then probably all that is needed is to reseat the taps and fit new washers. If it is a mixer then it will most likely have to be removed from the wall cavity to either be repaired or replaced.
