I have an old house with a very small bathroom. We’re trying to make a bit more move-around room. I’d like to replace the old toilet with one that takes up less space. The old one extends out 29 1/2″ from the wall. Does anyone know of a smaller toilet? There is more that 2″ of wasted space between the tank and the wall. Is there any reason the tank doesn’t just touch the wall?

It was roughed in to far out. Go to Plumbing supplyhouse are box store see if they have one, I dought it.
