My electric hot water tank has a reset button, lately it has been kicking off two to three times a day. My electric company checked he box outside it is ok. The tank was professionally installed. Any ideas ?

If the water heater is less than 6 years old, it is under warranty.

Sounds like a malfunctioning upper or lower thermostat.

The upper thermostat is the brain box, the lower is the one that feeds the lower element that does all the work. The upper element is to “maintain” ready to use hot water in the tank. Most times this upper thermostat will kick on if the temperature drops over the period of a day when no one is home to draw hot water.

I would replace both the upper/lower thermostats at the same time, they are relatively cheap and sometimes it is hard to decipher which one is not working accurately.
