I have noticed that when the hot water is running on my upstairs bathroom facuet there is a rhythmic knocking sound which starts. The sound only happens every couple seconds and then stops about 10-15 seconds after the water is turned off. That’s the only faucet in the house that does it, and it does not happen with the shower in the same room. Any ideas?

Could be the copper Hot water pipe could be expanding as the hot water passing through the line. This can cause a noise if it is a long run and the pipe is well secured and unable to move with the expansion

It sounds like you have a loose washer in the faucet, take it apart and see. let me know.

If its a spinning washer you could pin it, but if it is the noise should stop as soon as water is turned off not 15 seconds later.

When you turn off water you compress the washer and it has no chance to rattle.
