I have a sewer pipe which runs directly into the concrete basement floor and into the city sewer system. It is a Y shape coming out of the floor. The strait piece goes up to the first floor bathroom, etc. The angled part coming out of the Y shaped pipe ends only 10-12 inches above the basement floor. Currently a small 1 1/2 inch sump pump hose is run into the angled Y part with an adaptor fitting on the end. I am wanting to add a toilet in my basement and want to know my cheapest option to installing one. I can locate the toilet about two to five feet from this sewer pipe if need be. Can a normal toilet be purchased to flush into this sewer pipe? thanks for the info.

You need to break up floor and install a y fitting into line and then rough in toilet and run a vent through roof are tie into existing vent. let me know.

That y fitting where sump pump is drainning in should have a trap in it re you will get sewer gas in house if water gets to low in sump.
