As far as I know you will have to take them off and take them to a place to be Gold Plated. When you find the place that will do it ask them if they can do it at your house, I doult they can. let me know.

It’s done by a process similar to that for electroplating so in simple terms NO you can not buy a machibne to Gold Plate – heck if ya could we would be Millionaires!!
The taps will have to be sent to a plating Company who has specialised equipment to undertake the process for you – it is not cheap but the finish is like a million bucks.

Actually, you can purchase a fairly inexpensive gadget called a “pen plater” that works pretty well to electrolytically plate small metal parts, such as faucets. I have a pen plater made by Pepetools that cost less than $100 about 5 years ago, and I have used it to gold, silver, and rhodium plate small parts. Takes a bit of practice and patience, but it works great. The main expense is the plating solutions, which can cost up to $20 an ounce. You can have your faucets professionally plated for about $100. Buying the pen plating outfit and various soltuins will set you back a couple of hundred bucks. It would be worthwhile if you plan to do a lot of fixture refinishing or want to experiment with a new hobby, otherwise it would be more economical to take your fixture to a plating jobber.
