one of two showers in our 8 months old house has just started to drip day and night.
i have taken off the shower head and checked it. All is well.
I have removed the tap heads, the tape bases, and now all I see is the centraltap rod, a hole in the tiles, and a heap of silcone in the hole.
help asap.

Its likely that you’ll need to change the cartridge. What kind of faucet is it? Most manufacturers will send you a new cartridge at no charge.

It sounds to me like you have an ordiary over the rim filler H&C. You took off handle and excusions now you are seeing the packing nuts. Turn off the water and open the valves and take out the stems and look inside for some solder are some other dirt. If you lived there only 8 months then you should have 4 Months left on your one yr. warranty, check it out, call your realestate salesman. Let me know.
