I am currently building a new office area and have completed the entire project except I am having problems getting an exact measurement on how far from the studs do you need to locate the center of the toilet flange. I have received answers of 10″ – 12″ – and 13″. I am finishing the walls of by using 1/2 drywall. any help would be greatly helpful.

The toilet flange should be installed 12-1/2″ from the studs to centerline. (12-5/8″ when using 5/8″ drywall). In addition, if this is to be ADA compliant, the flange needs to also be 18-1/2″ from the studs on the side wall. If not ADA compliant then 15-1/2″ from sidewall (studs) to centerline.
