Hello, I have a question and it might sound stupid. However, I flushed the apparatus that holds the toilet paper roll into the hooks down the toilet. Will this cause any back up problems or problems with the pipes?!

It depends on how big it was, if it flushed through the bowl you should be ok, but if it lodged in bowl, paper will hang up and finally stop up. take a lot of paper and flush it down and see if it backs up, if not it probably went through the bowl and it could also lodge in sewer if it enters pipe wrong way, in time you will know if anything stops up, you know why.
