Does anybody know what the solution is to getting a new showerhead onto a Queen Ann shower pipe that is threaded for 9/16″? I have exhausted all the resources within 100 miles of my home. I was told to have the pipe rethreaded, but the local machine shop is unwilling for fear it will cause more damage to the pipe and make it worse.

Remove the piping and update the piping to correct sizing to make common materials usable.
