WHEN YOU ASK ABOUT CROSS CONTAIMATION, I HAVE HAD SEWER BLOCKAGE AND IT’S GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT MY IN-LAW MUST SNAKE OUT MY LINE FROM THE CLEAN OUT TO ABOUT 30-40′ TOWARD THE STREET AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. THE ODOR STILL PERSIST TO THE POINT I’VE TURNED OFF THE HOT WATER HEATER AND SHUT THE WATER OFF AT THE MAIN. THE SMELL IS STILL VERY POWERFUL IN MY HOUSE-I HAVE TO OPEN A WINDOW IN THE ROOM I’M IN AND WE DON’T RUN THE CENTRAL HVAC UNIT DUE TO IT DISTRIBUTING THE SMELL THROUGH THE DUCT.

I CAN’T USE ANY WATER IN MY HOME, AT ALL.

SHOULD I CONTACT THE PLACE I PAY FOR MY MONTHLY WATER BILL? OR SHOULD THERE BE A CITY WATER AUTHORITY I CONTACT?

MY NEIGHBORS HAD TO REPLACE/REPAIR THEIR SEWER LINE ALL THE WAY TO THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHERE THE MANHOLE IS AND THE CITY SAID THEY WEREN’T RESPONSIBLE! HOW WILL I KNOW THEY ARE, OR AREN’T. IN MY SITUATION?

MY NEIGHBORHOOD, AS WELL AS MY HOUSE, WAS BUILT IN THE 1960’S. WE ALL HAVE GALVINIZED PIPE IN THE SLAB. MY HOUSE BURNED IN 1998, THE PIPES FROM THE SLAB UP WERE REPLACED WITH COPPER.
IS IT OKAY TO USE GALVINIZED AND COPPER TOGETHER?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND PATIENCE! MAYBE I WON’T SOUND LIKE A FOOL WHEN SPEAKING TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES!

      THANKS AGAIN,

      CRISTI

About your sewer line, it could be the city sewer backing up in to yours, did you question them about that also if you put a House trap in your sewer with a CO. that will stop the smell from coming into your house, the vent side of trap will face your house and ventalate your house drain. awp35@jcn.net
