A G.E. dishwasher in one unit is growing mold on the inside starting in the sump area. I had to replace the first d/w because the mold was so bad. Now this second d/w is doing the same thing. Originally i thought that because the water heater was only set at 115 that it wasn’t killing the mold. When I first replaced the d/w I turned up the water heater and thought that would take care of the problem. (guess i was wrong about that.) Both dishwashers are mechanically in good working order with strong wash cycles and the element working properly. In additon the d/w is run on a daily basis and all extra food is removed from the dishes before they are placed in the d/w. I measured the water temp. and found that it maxed out at 120. I take care of 700 apts. and townhomes and have never seen a problem like this. This d/w grows enough mold to choke a small elephant. Any insight to this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
The water should be at least 180 dg. for the DW, is the heating element working, did you contact GE and ask them. The say that CLR will remove stuf from DW &washer.
