Does anyone know how to remove the waste trap in a bath tub. I made the mistake of trying to use a pair of vise grips to remove the tup trap inside the tub. I was unaware that there is a special tool to remove the trap. As a result, I completely destroyed the cross type structure that the tool is suppose to rest on. Any ideas as to how I can remove the trap?

Are you talking about the tub shoe strainer in bathtub, if so it could be sawed out if you can get it from below, if not you will have to go to a Plumbing supplyhouse and buy a tool to remove it, I could get it out but if I tell you how you might chip tub, you could take a Dremel tool I think thats what they call it and get a cutting blade and go down in strainer and cut it out but you would have to get a new shoe to install a new one, maybe call a Plumber, might be cheaper.
