Any ideas for retrieving a gold ring from a shower drain? There is a trap, but I don’t have access to it from below. The problem is compounded by the fact that the drain cover screws won’t budge (and start to strip when I twist too hard) so I’ve been trying to use a clothes hanger, hooked at the end. The slots in the drain cover are 1/4 inch wide.

You can drill out screws and retap drain are saw piece of drain strainer out big enough to get shop vac hose in and vac out water and ring, buy a new strainer and screw it back on.
