we have had a new kitchen extension. hot, cold and central heating pipes run under the floor. The concrete floor keeps ‘lifting’ and cracking. The builder has replaced it 3 times & has now been advised that the pipes have been lagged with the wrong type of lagging (woolly stuff-excuse the lay mans terminology) and as the pipes aren’t able to expand sufficiently he thinks this is causing the concrete to crack? The plumber is disputing this and we are now at stale mate? any help/suggestions would be gratefully received

It seems that you need to have a sample of the concrete tested for strength, concrete should not crack or lift as you have stated

The pipes should be about 12″ below the concrete not in the concrete, Put insulation around the pipes and bury then in dirt not conc.
