banging when faucet opened

        I just bought a house that has a kitchen faucet that bangs when the faucet is opened- not when closed. It doesn’t happen on any other fixtures. Also, when you try to use the sprayer, the water shuts off and the sprayer just dribbles. When you release the sprayer lever the water doesn’t come back on for a second, then bangs and comes back on.
        This is driving me nuts! any help would be appreciated.

          Sounds like the diverter spring is either broke on the faucet or there is a loose seat washer on the stem.

            Dunbar is right get name of faucet and go buy a new deverter valve and replace it, if that is not the trouble then replace faucet washer.

              Thanks for your replies. I forgot to mention it’s a Delta single handle. I’ll replace diverter today.
