I have a new, single handle kitchen faucet that shuts off by itself. If you turn the handle to all hot or all cold it is fine, but if you mix the two the faucet runs for about 10 seconds then shuts off. You need to turn it off, wait a second and turn it back on for it to work. Also, if you use the sprayer attachment, that works with any combination of Hot and Cold.

        Any ideas?

I agree totally with the Moen statement. Moen Extensa faucets are notorious for this problem and they are fully aware of the issue.
