is anybody familiar with this product? It is a shut-off valve with water hammer arrester attached. If so, does it work? Thank you.

We have used them plenty. They work under most circumstances. They are only required by the Uniform Plumbing Code on washing machines and dishwashers (solenoid valves). They only do a so so job on water hammer from point of use recirc. pump, when it shuts off.
