We just tried to repair a leaky shower by removing and replacing the “stems” in the faucet handles of the shower, now the shower will not shut off! We put the old stems back in with the same result. It still will not shut off. The Home improvement place is no help. the shower is about 10 years old, a Delta, and the # on the handles is 7400 Someone please tell us what to do!

Went to Delta site looked up #7400 and they said no such faucet. So if you have 2 sep. handles well all I can tell you without seeing are being there, put stem in and tighten to off put on coupling nut hand tight and then back out stem 1/4 turn and tighten up nut and try it if still not working call a Plumber.
